How much do you really know about your skin? Even though it’s our largest organ, it can sometimes feel like a stranger—or worse, completely out of our control.

Nowadays, we’ve learned to recognize some triggers. And one of the most influential is hormones.

The Hormonal Influence on Skin

Before your period: Your skin tends to be oilier, which makes clogged pores and breakouts more common. Exfoliation at this time can help prevent congestion. But remember—do not scrub active pimples!

During your period: Your skin is more likely to feel dry, sensitive, and reactive. Focus on hydration and avoid testing new products, as your skin may show adverse reactions more easily.

After your period: This is the time when your skin rejuvenates. It’s the best opportunity to try new products or go for a deeper exfoliation.

Navigating the Hormonal Journey

I know it can be tricky. If your menstrual cycle is irregular—or if you’re moving through menopause—the patterns may feel unpredictable. Hormones affect both our mental and physical state.

That’s why the most important step is awareness. Pay attention to how your skin feels and responds. With self-care and compassion, you’ll find balance in your own rhythm.

Time to listen to your skin, and be kind to yourself. ✨
