The Order of Product Application

One of my clients once told me she was confused about the order of skincare application. Honestly, I agree — it can get pretty confusing! With so many products and textures available, it’s not always obvious which comes first.
General Rule
Generally, apply products with the highest water content to those with the lowest. But it can vary depending on the ingredients and how quickly each absorbs. For example, if an oil absorbs quickly, you can use it right after a toner.
My Own Routine
I experimented with my own products in different orders, and here’s what surprised me:
Cleanser (not part of Aromatic Rituals)
Aromatic Toner
EYE LOVE – eye treatment
TIMELESS – facial oil
Essence – moisturizer
Surprised? Me too! LOL.
I asked people to test my products in this order before introducing them to you, and I found that they really work.
Here’s a simple flow chart to make layering even easier:
Daily Skincare Ritual — Application Order (by Aromatic Rituals)
Cleanser ➝ Aromatic Toner ➝ EYE LOVE (eye treatment) ➝ TIMELESS (facial oil) ➝ Essence (moisturizer)
Tip: Always move from lighter (water-based) to richer (oil-based) textures. ✨
Why It Matters
The right order ensures your products absorb properly and deliver maximum results. Using them out of order may reduce effectiveness, even if the formulas themselves are wonderful.
I don’t know what products you’re currently using, but understanding how to layer them in a way that works for your skin can make all the difference.
If you’d like guidance, I’d love to help you design a practical daily ritual that brings out the best in your products — and makes your skin smile. 🌿
Stay radiant and confident in your skincare ritual.
