We still need to be cautious, but many of you are starting to travel again. And if you’ve ever noticed, skin conditions often go a little off during trips — especially long flights.

I haven’t been able to fly to Japan yet, but when I do, the trip is thirteen hours. My personal skincare protocol has always saved my skin on those journeys. I hope these tips help you enjoy your travels with healthy, happy skin!

What Happens to Skin During Flights

After a long flight, skin often looks shiny yet feels dry at the same time. The texture becomes rough, pores look more visible, and sometimes small bumps appear on the forehead. These are all signs of dehydration.

My Post-Flight Routine

  1. Gentle Exfoliation:As soon as I arrive, I use a gentle chemical exfoliator (like AHA) to remove dry skin cells. This step clears the way for hydration to sink in. (Avoid scrubs if your skin already has bumps or pimples — it may irritate further.)

  2. Hydration Boost: After rinsing thoroughly, I layer on toner until my skin feels plump and hydrated.

  3. Seal with Moisture:Follow with a moisturizer to lock hydration in place.

When I return home, I repeat the same routine to reset my skin.

Travel can be exhausting for both your body and skin, but with the right care, you can keep your skin looking radiant wherever you go. ✨

Happy Travel!
